I created a Google Drive Document, Starting and Sustaining Patient & Family Advisory Councils: from Leadership Assessment to Success Metrics, that is set-up like a Wiki for the purposes of learning and sharing information regarding PFACs.
You can access this document, by clicking here, or by copying and pasting the following link into your browser:
The document includes valuable information regarding how to start a PFAC, potential PFAC projects and the results of two surveys I distributed to hospitals regarding why they don’t have a PFAC.
You can interact with fellow users of this document and with me by making comments and suggested edits throughout the document. Further instructions on how to do this are listed in the second page of the document.
My hope is that this becomes a living document with people adding information and resources for others, so, eventually, all hospitals in the U.S. and the world are listening to the voice of the patient and the family member through a Patient and Family Advisory Council.
